Naveen Distributes BSKY Health Cards In Koraput & Nabarangpur; 23 Dists Of Odisha Covered
Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday distributed smart health cards under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) in Koraput and Nabarangpur districts.
Around 12 lakh people of Koraput and 11.30 lakh of Nabarangpur will benefit from the health cards. With this, 23 districts of Odisha have been covered under the scheme.
Speaking on the launch of the cards in Koraput on virtual mode, Naveen said the district has got international recognition for its coffee. The coffee plantation, which has opened new avenues for income for the people, will be extended to 5,000 hectare in next five years, he added.
The chief minister also inaugurated projects worth Rs 1,000 crore on the occasion.
Similarly in Nabarangpur, Naveen inaugurated projects taken up with an investment of Rs 133 crore. Those included drinking water and communication facilities. He also dedicated 49 healthcare institutions constructed at a cost of Rs 45 crore.
The chief minister said 3.5 crore people of 96 lakh families in the state would benefit from the smart health card. They can get treatment at 200 hospitals in the country with the help of smart health cards, he added.
