Centre Asks People Not To Sign Up For Elon Musk’s ‘Starlink’ Internet; Know Why

New Delhi: The Centre has advised people against subscribing to billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX aerospace company, Starlink Internet Services as it does not have a proper licence to operate in India.

According to a statement issued late on Friday, Starlink had been told to comply with regulations and refrain from “booking/rendering the satellite internet services in India with immediate effect.”

The business has been registered in India by Starlink on November 1. The company has already begun advertising and it has started pre-selling its service, and according to the government.

However, Starlink was tight-lipped on the matter. “No comment for now,” the company was quoted as saying by news agency Reuters.

A large number of companies are introducing small satellites as part of a low-Earth orbiting network. It is aimed at providing low-latency broadband internet services around the world, with a particular focus on remote areas.
