Angry Passenger Stabs Woman Constable On Train; Know What Happened

Chennai: A woman constable of Railway Protection Force (RPF) was stabbed by a male passenger after she asked him to get off a compartment reserved for ladies.

The suburban train was about to depart from Chennai Beach station towards Chengalpet around 8.45 pm on Tuesday when the shocking incident took place.

The constable, identified as Asirva, suffered neck injury and is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. According to a report in The Times of India, her condition is stable.

An unidentified passenger reportedly got angry when Asirva asked him to deboard the ‘ladies only’ compartment and move to another bogie.

In a fit of anger, the man took out a knife and stabbed the constable in the neck. He then jumped off the train and fled from the spot.

Chennai police have launched a man hunt after identifying the attacker with the help of CCTV camera footage in and around the station.
