Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Sunday announced an extension of the Aadhaar-based e-KYC process for beneficiaries under the National and State Food Security Schemes till December 31.
The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department said in a press release that the e-KYC verification is being carried out across 11,827 Fair Price Shops (FPS), 314 Block Offices, and 64 Urban Local Body (ULB) Offices, where Ration Card Management Centres are currently operational.
The department made it clear that no eligible beneficiary will be denied food security benefits due to the non-completion of the e-KYC process. Those who are yet to complete verification are getting their monthly Public Distribution System (PDS) commodities as usual.
Ration card holders who are yet to complete the e-KYC verification process for any reason can visit their nearest Fair Price Shop or Ration Card Management Centre to complete the Aadhaar-linked verification before the December 31, 2025 deadline.
The decision to extend the deadline aims to ensure transparency and accuracy in the distribution of subsidized food grains while safeguarding the rights of all eligible beneficiaries during the ongoing verification process, officials said.
