Mumbai: Aamir Khan showered praise on Riddhima Kapoor Sahni after watching her performance in ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’.
In a light-hearted remark, the senior actor said jokingly that Riddhima “acted better” than her brother Ranbir Kapoor, adding that he thoroughly enjoyed her work in the film.
Speaking to paparazzi after attending a special screening in Mumbai, Aamir said: “Riddhima ki pehle film hai. Bahot badhiya kaam kiya hai. Ranbir se better acting ki hai. Bahot maza aaya mujhe (I enjoyed it a lot). So, my very best wishes to the entire team, all the very best, well done guys (It is Riddhima’s first film. She has done a very good job. She has acted better than Ranbir. I enjoyed it a lot. So, my very best wishes to the entire team, all the very best, well done guys).”

Riddhima appeared visibly embarrassed and smiled shyly as those around her applauded and cheered Aamir’s humorous remark.
Last year in May, she had shared an emotional note on social media.
“Firsts are always special. Because it’s those very ‘firsts’ that form the blueprint of learning we will carry for the rest of our lives. For 52 days, over 200 people came together to tell this heartwarming, funny, and beautiful film. We plotted, we danced, we laughed and cried, and I cannot wait for you to join in the celebrations when this film hits your screens. #DKS,” it read.
Not only Riddhima, her daughter Samaira also stepped into acting with ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’.
During a recent interaction, Neetu Kapoor recalled that she burst into laughter when the makers first asked whether Riddhima would be interested in joining the project.
Neetu shared that Riddhima too found the idea amusing at first, especially as the offer to make her acting debut came at the age of 45, but eventually decided to take on the role.
Directed by Ashish R Mohan, the family comedy-drama is backed by RTake Studios and BeingU Studios.
The film features Kapil Sharma, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, R. Sarathkumar, Tejasswi Kolhapure and Sadia Khateeb in pivotal roles.
The film hit theatres on May 8, two days ahead of Mother’s Day.
