Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Animesh Kujur underlined his stature as one of India’s leading sprinters by clocking his personal best in the 100m dash.
The 23-year-old Animesh ran the 100m final at the PUMA Fast Arms Fast Legs 2026 meet in Germany’s Wetzlar to finish second. He thus bettered his previous personal best of 10.15 seconds.

Significantly, Animesh’s performance in the final is the fastest 100m recorded by an Indian on foreign soil.
He thus improved his own mark of 10.18 seconds, set last year in Greece.
Animesh’s 10.14 is also the second-fastest by an Indian, only behind Gurindervir Singh’s national record of 10.09 seconds.
Animesh is the national record-holder in 200m event.
India has high hopes from Animesh in the Commonwealth Games, to be held in Glasgow from July 23 to August 2.
