Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, on Wednesday announced the results of the Annual Instant and Annual Improvement Higher Secondary Examinations 2026 for students in the humanities (Arts), commerce, science, and vocational streams.
A total of 4,525 candidates appeared in these post-result examinations. Of these, 1,741 sat for the Instant Examination, primarily for students who narrowly failed one subject in the main exams, while 2,784 appeared for the Improvement Examination, allowing successful candidates from the annual exams to enhance their scores in one subject.
In the Instant Examination, the overall pass percentages were recorded as follows:
Humanities (Arts): 86.7%
Commerce: 81.63%
Science: 69.74%
Vocational: 94.12%
Controller of Examinations Prasanta Kumar Parida noted that marks obtained by students in the Improvement Examination will be automatically updated in their online academic records.
The written examinations were conducted on July 3 and July 4 across 32 examination centres throughout the state. This initiative, including the newly introduced Improvement Exam option, aims to provide greater flexibility for students seeking better scores for higher education admissions without waiting for the next annual cycle.
How to Access Results and Marksheets
Candidates can check their results on the official portal results.odisha.gov.in by entering their roll number and registration number. Digital marksheets became available for download from 5 pm on Wednesday. Results have also been uploaded to the SAMS e-Space of all higher secondary schools.
Digital marksheets and certificates will additionally be accessible via DigiLocker. Hard copies of the certificates and marksheets will be distributed to students through their respective schools by August 15.
This round of results follows the declaration of the main Annual Higher Secondary Examination (AHSE) 2026 results in May, where the overall pass percentage stood at around 85.85%, showing improvement over the previous year, with strong performances particularly in the Science and Commerce streams.
