Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra is all set to star alongside Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe in the upcoming sci-fi action thriller ‘Bluefly’.
The announcement has sparked excitement among fans and celebrities, who flooded social media with congratulatory messages.
On Thursday, Priyanka unveiled the project on Instagram, sharing a poster and writing, “On to the next.”
Among the first to react were husband Nick Jonas and actor Huma Qureshi, who dropped fire emojis in the comments section.
Fans also flooded the post with praise, with one writing, “That’s a casting worth watching.”
Another commented, “She is crushing it.”
Others added, “This sounds so good,” and “She is going big, man.”

Penned by David Frigerio (Beast), William Eubank (Underwater) and Carlyle Eubank (Muzzle), Bluefly will be directed by Nimród Antal.
According to Deadline, the film follows a grieving UN translator who is drawn into a covert mission deep in the Congo to recover a mysterious aircraft that was never meant to exist.
As a Special Operations team ventures through militia-controlled territory, the mission spirals into a dangerous descent, revealing that the aircraft carries secrets that were never meant to be uncovered.
The film is backed by Michael Jefferson for Polite Society, David Frigerio for Broken Open Pictures, Deborah Glover for G2 Dispatch, and Arianne Fraser, Delphine Perrier and Vanessa Yao Guo for Highland Film Group.
Speaking about the project, Highland Film Group COO Delphine Perrier said, “Bluefly is heart-pounding entertainment with a complex story full of unexpected twists. With Nimród Antal at the helm and our wonderful cast, we cannot wait to introduce this fantastic project to our global buyers.”
Crowe remains one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors, having won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his iconic portrayal of Maximus in Ridley Scott’s ‘Gladiator’. The 2000 blockbuster went on to win five Oscars, including Best Picture.
Meanwhile, Priyanka continues to balance projects across Hollywood and India.
She will next be seen in SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’, alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
The much-anticipated film is currently in production and is slated to release in April 2027.
