Mumbai: Aamir Khan Productions has announced a documentary centred on the inspiring life and journey of President Droupadi Murmu.
Variety India reported that the film will trace Murmu’s remarkable rise from humble beginnings in Odisha to becoming the 15th President of India, highlighting the challenges she overcame and the milestones that shaped her path to the country’s highest constitutional office.
The documentary will be helmed by filmmaker and writer Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal, who is known for crafting socially conscious and human-centric narratives.
More than just recounting key events, the film aims to delve into the resilience and determination that have shaped President Murmu’s extraordinary journey.
The makers aim to offer a deeply personal look at a leader whose inspiring journey has touched and motivated people from all walks of life.
To make the documentary feel more authentic, some scenes have reportedly been filmed in President Murmu’s native village in Odisha.
Local actors have been chosen to portray different stages of her life and recreate important moments from her early years.
The makers are using a mix of archival footage, real locations and recreated scenes to tell the story of her journey to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The documentary will also highlight how her becoming President inspired tribal communities, women and people from underrepresented backgrounds across the country.
Over the years, Aamir Khan productions has backed several projects that have gone beyond entertainment, encouraging meaningful dialogue and raising awareness about social issues that matter.
