Balangir: Police arrested three youths for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl from the district and raping her. The girl was rescued from Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
According to police sources, one of the three accused, Jayakrushna Luha from Turekela developed an affair with the girl. When he gained her confidence, he along with his friends Mohit Ranjan Panda and Ashwini Chhatria kidnapped her.
They took her to Raipur where Jayakrushna allegedly raped her, the sources said.
After the girl’s family lodged a missing complaint, the police started investigation and traced the accused and the girl in Raipur. Later, they raided a place there and rescued the girl.
The police arrested the three accused under Pocso Act and forwarded them to court on Saturday.
