Advance Bookings Open; Huge Demand For ‘Pathaan’ Tickets Overseas

Mumbai: The controversies surrounding the song ‘Besharam Rang’ seem to be helping Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Pdukone’s upcoming film ‘Pathaan’.

Yash Raj Films, the producers, have already begun advance bookings in important overseas markets for Shah Rukh’s first release since ‘Zero’ in December 2018. And if early response is anything to go by, the action-packed film looks set to score big in the box office.

In the UAE, 3500 tickets worth $50,000 have been sold on the first day, according to Zoom. With 10 days still remaining for the worldwide release of ‘Pathaan’, it’s expected to surpass the $350,000 opening day collections for ‘Raees’ in the UAE in 2017.

In Australia, over 3000 tickets were sold on Day 1, bringing in more than $65,000.

As for Germany, where advance ticket sales began a month before the January 25 release, ‘Pathaan’ has sold 8500 tickets – worth 125,000 Euros — for the first five days, including 4,000 for the opening day.

‘Pathaan’ is part of YRF’s spy universe genre which began with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, and continued with ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and ‘War’. Tiger 3 is also in the pipeline, slated for release in 2023-end.
