Mumbai: After wrapping up Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’, actor Vicky Kaushal will reportedly begin shooting for his next titled ‘Mahavatar’ with Amar Kaushik.
As Vicky will be seen playing Chiranjeevi Parashurama in the mythological epic, sources close to the project have disclosed that the actor will quit alcohol and non-veg food as a mark of respect for the warrior-sage.
“A film like Mahavatar requires complete focus, and the duo (Vicky Kaushal and Amar Kaushik) have decided to give it all to make it a pure spectacle for the cinema-going audience. They have decided to quit non-veg food, and will start their prep for the film with a grand puja towards the middle of next year,” a source close to the project was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
“While Amar has already given up on the food habits, Vicky has decided to do so once the shoot for Love And War is wrapped up. It’s his way of showing respect to the part of Lord Parashurama,” the source added
The film will apparently go on floors by the end of 2026 and is likely to hit theatres in 2028.
Earlier in September, Ranbir Kapoor, who will be playing Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, had also decided to quit alcohol and non-veg.
As per reports, the actor will be following strict sattvic diet, early workouts, and meditation to reflect the spiritual discipline of the character.
Vicky and Ranbir Kapoor will be sharing screen space in ‘Love and War’ along with Alia Bhatt.
