Bhubaneswar: A day after a former woman employee accused Air Odisha Director (Operations) Santosh Pani of rape, GSEC Monarch Decan Aviation Pvt Ltd, the major shareholder in the airline, on Thursday suspended him from the post.
An official statement issued by the company said, “Based on the alleged involvement, his employment is revoked with immediate effect and he is no longer in services of Air Odisha Aviation Pvt Ltd.”
At present, Pani doesn’t hold any directorship or shareholding in the company, it added.
On Wednesday, the former employee had lodged a complaint at Khandagiri police station here, alleging that Pani raped her twice in August this year. The accused, she stated in her FIR, raped her on August 10 and again on August 12. She left the job on August 13 and left for Kolkata.
She had joined Air Odisha as security supervisor in July 2018.
The complainant is currently working with Air Deccan.
