Lahore: Pakistan has been badly stung by Operation Sindoor, which destroyed terror camps at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam massacre.
So much so that our neighbours have been trying to retaliate by ramping up shelling and firing along Line of Control (LoC) and international border. Pakistan also made efforts to target military installations in 15 cities across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat, but India’s Integrated Air Defence Systems successfully neutralised the threats on the night of May 7-8.
On Thursday morning, India further responded by neutralising a Pakistani air defence radar and system in Lahore.
Amid heightened tensions, people in both countries are praying that the situation doesn’t get more serious.
One such voice was heard in Pakistan’s parliament.
National Assembly member Major Tahir Iqbal, belonging to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s PML-N party, broke down while addressing Parliament in Urdu on Thursday.
Urging all to be together and united, he said the Almighty had given them the responsibility of protecting Pakistan and appealed for divine intervention to prevent a potential ‘war’ with India.
“Our nation is in agony… I urge all of you to walk together and reconnect with your Lord. I beg before the Almighty to shield our country,” said the emotional former Army officer.
“Maybe we lack something, maybe our hands are tied, maybe we have sinned to be suffering… But we need your blessings… I urge all of you to unite and pray before the God. Oh Allah, we bow down our heads before you, please save this country,” Iqbal said.

Iqbal seems to be among the minority among Pakistani politicians as most of them are determined to pay India back for Operation Sindoor.
