Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan’s fans have a reason to rejoice as his debut film ‘Deewana’, which also starred late Divya Bharti, is set to get a sequel.
Veteran filmmaker Guddu Dhanoa, who had produced ‘Deewana’ in 1992, revealed during an interview with News18 Showsha that the sequel is already in the scripting stage.
However, the cast of the film is yet to be finalised, shared the filmmaker.
“Yes, Deewana 2 is very much happening. We’re currently in the scripting stage. There’s still some time before the film goes on floors as my web series will release before that,” Dhanoa said.
Dhanoa further revealed that besides ‘Deewana 2’, he also has plans of making ‘Bichhoo 2.’
“My film Bichhoo earned a lot of love. We’re extremely keen on making Bichhoo 2 and the script for the same is also in the works,” he said.
Dhanoa, who launched Shah Rukh as an actor, heaped praises on him. “His evolution and growth as a star has been incredible. He’s definitely a very good actor but what’s more noteworthy is that he’s a lovely human being. And that, I believe, has helped him climb the ladder of success.”
Dhanoa’s upcoming directorial debut ‘Romeo S3’ will hit the screens on May 16. It features Thakur Anoop Singh and Palak Tiwari in lead roles.
