Bhubaneswar: Following the success of ‘Karma’, Anupam Patnaik, the creative force behind the National Award-winning Pratikshya (currently being remade in Hindi), is returning with what industry insiders are calling his magnum opus, ‘Mantra Muugdha’.
Amiya Patnaik Productions is gearing up for a grand theatrical release of his next cinematic spectacle across Odisha in January next year.
Written and directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker and produced by Barsha Patnaik, the film blends fantasy, comedy, and horror with unprecedented scale and imagination. “Mantra Muugdha is poised to be a groundbreaking cinematic experience, fusing Odisha’s mystical folklore and heritage with a fresh, global storytelling vision. Shot over 50 days in the regal Dharakote Palace in Berhampur, the film transports audiences into a world where belief and superstition intertwine in unpredictable, enchanting ways. The palace’s timeless aura provides the perfect canvas for this story, one that promises to be both magical and deeply human,” the production house said in a release.
The film, it said, fuses Odisha’s mystical folklore and heritage with a fresh, global storytelling vision.
Adding to the film’s mounting anticipation is “Jalsa,” the most expensive song ever produced in Odia cinema, mounted on a lavish Rs 24 lakh budget. “The vibrant and energetic track, already creating buzz online, showcases grand choreography, opulent set design, and cinematic scale never before witnessed in the industry, setting a new benchmark for Odia filmmaking,” the release further stated.
