Aryan Khan Case: Complaint Filed Against Mufti For ‘Communal’ Comment
New Delhi: A lawyer on Monday filed a complaint with Delhi Police asking for an FIR to be registered against Mehbooba Mufti for giving a communal twist to the Aryan Khan rave party cruise drugs case.
Earlier in the day, the former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister stated that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son was being targeted because of his surname.
“Instead of making an example out of a Union minister’s son accused of killing four farmers, central agencies are after a 23-year-old simply because his surname happens to be Khan. Travesty of justice that Muslims are targeted to satiate the sadistic wishes of BJP’s core vote bank,” the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party president had tweeted.
In his complaint, the lawyer stated that an FIR should be registered against Mehbooba Mufti under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for “attempting to create enmity between communities”.
The complaint further said that it was an “inciting statement which intends to create hatred and unrest among communities.”
Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) first detained Aryan and four others after raiding a rave party aboard a cruise ship. They were thereafter arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody.
The bail plea of Aryan, who is currently lodged in Arthur Road prison, has been rejected. His next bail hearing is on October 13.
