Before No-Trust Vote, Taslima Nasreen Takes Jibe At Imran Khan; Maryam Nawaz Calls Him ‘Psychopath’

Bhubaneswar: With the no-confidence motion in the national assembly scheduled for 8 pm PST on Saturday, Imran Khan might become the first Pakistan Prime Minister to be removed through a no-trust vote.

While the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party effectively lost the majority in the assembly earlier this month after a key coalition partner with seven lawmakers announced that it would vote for the motion, more than a dozen from his own party have also hinted at crossing the floor.

Earlier in the day, Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen took a jibe at Imran, saying that he can now divorce Bushra Bibi, his third wife and spiritual guide. “Imran Khan married Bushra because Bushra with her special spiritual power said Imran would be the Prime Minister. Did she predict he won’t be able to complete his term? Certainly not. Now he can divorce her & marry a fortune-telling female parrot who will say Imran will never die.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Opposition leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif also lashed out at the former cricketer, saying that he should be treated as a ‘psychopath’ and not as a ‘PM or ex-PM’. Reacting to Imran’s praises for India in his address to the nation on Friday, she advised him to shift to the neighbouring country if he likes it so much.

Imran had called India a “nation with a great sense of honour” and added that no superpower can force it to do anything “against its interests” while referring to buying Russian oil despite sanctions.

He had praised India in the past as well, saying the country protects its “independent foreign policy” that revolves around its citizens.
