Bengaluru: A police notice has been issued to Nikita Singhania, the wife of Bengaluru-based techie Atul Subhash who died by suicide earlier this week, asking her to record her statement within three days.
The notice, posted at Nikita’s residence in Jaunpur (Uttar Pradesh), also directed Nikita’s mother and brother to record their statements.
Atul, who worked for a private firm in Bengaluru, took his own life on Monday alleging harassment by his wife and her family members. He left behind a 24-page suicide note stating that emotional distress from marital issues and multiple cases filed against him by his wife.
Based on a complaint by Atul’s brother, a case of abetment of suicide has been registered against Nikita and her family members. Nikita, an employee at Accenture, has not yet responded to the allegations.
