Bhubaneswar: SAI International School on Friday four student-led magazines — SAI Arthashastra, Vistarika, Aitihya and Chakravyuh — in the presence of Tathagat Satpathy, Editor of Daily Dharitri & Orissa Post, and former Member of Parliament.
The publications cover economics and sustainability, careers and future readiness, history and heritage, and politics, public policy and global affairs. They provide students with a platform to research, write, analyse and engage with real-world issues beyond the classroom.
Satpathy appreciated the initiative at the launch event.
“A publication is not simply about putting words on paper… it is about learning to observe, question and make sense of what is happening around us. It is encouraging to see students taking that responsibility so early. These magazines give them a wonderful opportunity to develop the habits of research, reflection and expression,” he said.
SAI International Education Group chairperson Dr Silpi Sahoo said, “We want our students to be comfortable with curiosity — to ask questions even when there are no easy answers. These magazines are an extension of that philosophy. They allow students to explore subjects deeply, listen to different perspectives and find their own voice through meaningful work.”

“SAI Arthashastra gave us an opportunity to look at economics beyond definitions and textbooks. While working on the magazine, we began noticing how everyday decisions, businesses and global issues are connected. It has made us more curious about how the world actually works.”

“As students, we are constantly told to think about our future, but there are so many possibilities that we may not even know about. Through Vistarika, we wanted to explore those possibilities and share what we discover with others. It has helped us think more openly about the choices ahead.”

“History becomes much more interesting when you start looking beyond dates and events. While working on Aiteehya, we discovered stories, traditions and ideas that helped us see our past differently. It taught us that understanding where we come from can also help us understand who we are today.”

“Chakravyuha has taught us that understanding current affairs requires more than simply knowing what happened. We have to read, question, look at different perspectives and form our own understanding. As student editors, that process has made us more aware of the world around us.”
