Bollywood Actress Sonam Kapoor’s Mehendi Look At Cannes Makes It To Vogue
New Delhi: Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who got married to Anand Ahuja this month, made it to Fashion gospel and internationally-acclaimed fashion magazine Vogue with her mehendi-on-the-red-carpet look.
Clad in a tulle dress hand-picked from the studios of celebrated designer Vera Wang, Sonam walked the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival and caught the attention of many with her manicure hands with mehendi and minimal jewellery.
Vogue reviewed her looks as: The traditional Indian form body art, which the actress also wore at her fairytale wedding to businessman Anand Ahuja just one week prior, was accompanied by a nude manicure and a new wedding ring.”

She was welcomed as a newly-wed and congratulated. The wedding ring shone on her fingers making it quite prominent that her status has changed now to ‘married’. She went for unique Chopard earrings for both her red carpet looks.
Sonam had worn a neon yellow eye shadow that enhanced her look! For her first red carpet, she wore a breathtaking lehenga-dress from Ralph and Russo.
The ‘Neerja’ actress who got married on May 8 said marriage doesn’t change anything. After her Cannes appearances she will be back to work with ‘Veere Di Wedding’ promotions.
In an interview at the Cannes, Sonam spoke about changing her name from Sonam Kapoor to Sonam K Ahuja on social media, after the wedding. She said,” I have always said that I am a feminist. I have the choice to change my name to what I want to. Kapoor is also my father’s name So it is a man’s name anyway. I chose to keep both. Anand had also changed his name but nobody wrote about that. I just decided to do it on social media because that’s my platform to say that I have made a choice. It is my personal choice. Nobody put a gun to my head. You should ask him(Anand). He has also changed his name and decided to add something as well.”
Anand Ahuja changed his name to Anand S Ahuja on Instagram.
Sonam further said that she is a feminist and feminism is about having equal opportunities and the choice to do what one wants to do. “Somebody judging me for my choice is not what feminism stands for,” she added.
