The Indian mixed compound archery team entered the gold-medal match after beating Thailand 156-155 in the semi-finals.
Chikitha Taniparthi, who was part of the women’s compound team, paired up with Sahil Rajesh Jadhav to dish out another superior performance to establish an early two-point lead.

The Indian duo maintained the lead heading into the final stretch. Chikitha faltered a bit shooting a 9. However, Sahil held his nerve to take them through to the summit clash.
The Indians equalled the world record held by South Korea in achieving the feat. Korea had achieved the total during the Incheon Asian Games in 2014.
It was India’s seventh gold medal in the ongoing edition.
The Indian women’s compound team had won the gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. India had won five gold medals in archery at the last edition.
