According to sources, a group of senior students harassed a junior student in the campus over some issues and also beat him up. Later, the victim informed his friends who came to the spot and an altercation ensued between the two groups.

As the altercation escalated, the groups of senior and junior students were engaged in a violent clash. The senior students also detained 3 junior students in the campus.

But one of the junior students managed to escape from the clutches of his seniors and informed the police. A team from Badagada police station went to the prestigious college.

They rescued the detained students and diffused the tension in the campus. The police detained the members of both groups and were questioning them.

It may be noted that around 20 youths had attacked three under-graduate (UG) students, all inmates of BR Ambedkar hostel of the college, following an altercation over playing cricket on the campus playground in April. One of the students sustained head injuries and two others were stabbed in their hands.
