Odisha CM Announces Package For Bijepur Constituency

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced a series of development projects for Bargarh district and the Bijepur Assembly constituency from where he registered a landslide victory last week.

The Chief Minister said that about 34,000 kuchcha houses in Bijepur will be made pucca.

For supply of drinking water, he said two mega pipe water projects will be set up in Bargarh district at a cost of Rs 1120 crore. They will benefit about eight lakh people of 505 villages. Efforts will be made for the supply of piped drinking water to each house within two years.

Apart from this, a mega lift irrigation project will be set up in the Gaisilat block at a cost of Rs 48 crore to facilitate irrigation in 3000 acres of land. Apart from this, nine river lift irrigation projects and 3000 deep bore wells will also be set up in the district.

“Besides, the state government has sanctioned Rs 40 crore for the development of Bijepur and Barapali towns,”  the Chief Minister said, adding that he will review the status of these proposed projects every two months.
