Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital reported another 394 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which took the affected tally to 13689 on Monday.
It is after four days that the city has reported less than 400 new infections. September 1 saw 307 and the number spiralled to 541 on September 2 and further rose to 580 on September 3. While 550 cases were reported on September 4, the number slightly dropped to 409 the following day and again rose to 483 on September 6, which pushed the total past 13,000.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 159 of the new cases have been detected among those in quarantine. While one had a travel history to Delhi, the rest 158 are contacts of previous patients.

The remaining 235 are local contact cases. The city has been reporting more such cases in the last seven days with 1839 of total 3264 positive cases being local contacts.
The BMC also informed about 394 more patients getting cured of the infection. The city also saw one more COVID-19 death in the last 24 hours.
With 49 deaths and 8529 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 5099 active cases.
