COVID-19: India Reports Highest Single-Day Spike, Tally Crosses 3.6 Lakh

New Delhi: India registered the highest single-day spike of 12,881 coronavirus cases on Thursday. It was the third-highest daily increase in the world.

With the day’s new cases, the national tally has gone up to 3,66,946 while total 12,237 patients have succumbed to the COVID-19 with 334 new fatalities over the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, the Central government has claimed that the recovery rate in the country has improved to 52.95 per cent. There are 1,60,384 active cases and 1,94,324 patients have recovered.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state in the country with 116,752 contractions. The death toll in the state reached 5,651 with 114 new deaths.

The number of corona positive cases in Delhi reached 47,102 with 2,414 fresh ones. The death tally rose to 1,904 after 67 new fatalities in the national capital.
