Cuttack: The COVID-19 tally in Cuttack district mounted to 3202 on Sunday with 72 new cases being detected in the last 24 hours.
According to the Cuttack administration, four patients from Narasinghpur and one from Tangi were lodged at temporary medical camps. One case from Mahanga was a Rourkela returnee and the Choudwar case had a travel history to Hyderabad.

“The other cases are contacts of positive cases and admitted to various hospitals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar,” the tweet added.

Among them, 53 new cases have been reported from areas under Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) limits.
According to CMC, 19 among them are from containment zone Jalua Sahi, Malgodown, while 18 are home quarantine cases. Seven more cases have been reported from Samanta Sahi and four from Choudhary Bazaar.

Among the institutional quarantine cases, five, including a COVID warrior, are from the isolation ward of SCB Medical Colege and Hospital here.
Three more COVID warriors are mentioned in the list of 10 local contact cases.

The CMC has also tweeted about 98 recoveries on August 9.
With 10 deaths and 912 recoveries, Cuttack city now has 799 active cases.
