COVID-19 Tally In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj Nears 400 With 21 Fresh Cases

Baripada: The total COVID-19 cases in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district touched 397 on Wednesday with 21 fresh cases being reported in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, one case each has been reported from Baripada Municipality, Kaptipada, and Karanjia Block, four each from Bijatala and Sukruli blocks, two cases each from Badasahi and Betnoti blocks and six from Jashipura block.

Twelve among those infected are returnees from other states (Haryana-1, Karnataka-3, West Bengal-1, Tamil Nadu-1, Andhra Pradesh-1, Rajasthan-2, Jharkhand-2, and Pondichery-1). Among them, 11 persons were in the institutional quarantine centers while and one in-home quarantine.

Of the eight local contact cases, two are from Badasahi block, four from Jashipur block and one each from Betnoti block and Baripada Municipality.

The lone infected corona warrior belongs to Kaptipada Block, the district administration said, adding that the contact tracing of all cases is on.

With 270 recoveries, Mayurbhanj no has 125 active cases.
