Cuttack Court Grants 7-Day Remand Of Gangster Hyder’s Aide Yakub To Police
Cuttack: The Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), here on Tuesday granted permission to police to take escaped gangster Hyder’s aide Yakub Khan on a seven-day remand.
After Yakub surrendered before police on Monday, he was arrested and produced before the court. Suspecting his involvement in escape of Hyder from SCM Medical College and Hospital on April 10, the police had sought his seven-day remand from the court.
The SCB Hospital staff have come under police scanner as preliminary investigation revealed that the CCTV camera in the surgery ward of the hospital was switched off on the day Hyder slipped out. Hyder was also admitted to cabin no-5 of the surgery ward in gross violation of the rules.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra has claimed that some senior bureaucrats were involved in the escape of Hyder. His escape was pre-planned and carefully stage-managed, and now efforts are being made to hide the fact, he alleged.
