Berhampur: The depression-induced rain has claimed four lives in Odisha so far. Three casualties were reported yesterday and one on Tuesday.
A six-year-old girl reportedly died on the spot and six children of Ramachandrapur village under Dharakot block in Ganjam district were seriously injured after the wall of a house collapsed on them on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place at about 10 am when seven children were playing near a thatched house.
Following the incident, the villagers rushed the six minor children to Dharakote Community Health Centre (CHC) where their condition is stated to be critical.
Ganjam district has been receiving heavy rainfall for the last three days under the influence of a low pressure over the Bay of Bengal.
Three deaths On Monday, two persons died in wall collapse incidents in Kendrapada district and one person drowned in Khurda district.

The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) informed media that 10 districts received over 200 mm rainfall in the last two days. The highest of over 500 mm rainfall was recorded in 2 blocks of Puri district.
