Mumbai: After a record-breaking theatrical run, Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is gearing up for its international OTT premiere on Netflix.
Adding to the excitement, the streaming version will reportedly feature an extended “raw & undekha” cut, offering global audiences never-before-seen footage and additional scenes from the action-packed entertainer.
The Netflix version of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has a runtime of 3 hours and 52 minutes, which is slightly longer than its theatrical version that lasted 3 hours, 49 minutes and 6 seconds.
Although the makers have not disclosed details about the additional footage, the extended cut is expected to provide viewers a more immersive experience, featuring extra action sequences and heightened dramatic moments.
The film will can be streamed in 4K with Dolby 5.1 audio support, although HDR, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos formats are currently not supported.
Interestingly, while the film’s international streaming rights are with Netflix, its India streaming rights belong to JioHotstar.
This has led many Indian viewers to hope that the ‘Raw and Undekha’ extended edition will eventually release on the platform as well.
For audiences who already experienced the film in theatres, the additional footage has sparked curiosity, particularly over whether the new scenes alter the emotional weight of the climax.
For overseas audiences who were unable to catch ‘Dhurandhar The Revenge’ in theatres, its May 14 OTT release will offer their first chance to experience the film in what is said to be its fullest and most expansive cut so far.
The film, which was released on March 19, recently completed 50 days in theatres.
The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead alongside Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Danish Pandor in key roles.
