Discrepancies In Class X Odia Paper: CBSE Forms Expert Panel, Decision In 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: An expert panel was set up by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday to probe into the alleged discrepancies in the questions and the answer key of Odia paper of Class X Term 1 examination.

Based on the expert committee’s report, the board will take a call within 24 hours.

“A dispute has been received from a school regarding the Answer Key of Odia subject in Class-X claiming that the answers given in the answer key for some of the questions are wrong. Therefore, with a view to ascertain the factual position, an expert committee has been constituted by the board which will examine the discrepancies raised in the representation. An appropriate decision will be taken by the Board within 24 hours, on the basis of the report of the expert committee,” the statement added.

It may be recalled that the CBSE had announced the Term-1 examination results on March 12. Soon after, several students tweeted, claiming that the question paper had several mistakes and grace marks were not awarded for the same.
Some even claimed that there were as many as 12 wrong answers in the paper.

The Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangha had also threatened to stage a protest in front of the board’s regional office in Bhubaneswar if the issue was not resolved within a week.
