Disha Salian case: Police To Record Statements Of Union Minister Narayan Rane, Son

Mumbai: Union minister Narayan Rane and his son Nitesh, an MLA, have been sent notices to appear before police in connection with the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager Disha Salian.

Statements of Rane and Nitesh will be recorded in an FIR which was registered against the father-son duo for allegedly making defamatory remarks and spreading false information about the death of Disha, The Indian Express reported.

Mumbai Police concluded that Disha committed suicide by jumping off a building on June 8, 2020 — six days before Sushant was found dead in his Bandra apartment.

But several questions have been raised from several quarters about the circumstances surrounding deaths of both Sushant and Disha. The CBI is still investigating the Sushant case, which was also initially stated to be death by suicide by Mumbai Police.

Last month, Narayan Rane made some remarks on the Disha case in Nitesh’s presence.

Mumbai mayor Kishor Pednekar thereafter visited Disha’s family and lodged a complaint with Maharashtra State Commission for Women (MSCW) on February 21.

MSCW recorded statements of Disha’s family members and issued a notice to Mumbai police asking them to file a report. Disha’s post-mortem report has also been sought.
