Elon Musk To Resign As Twitter CEO After Finding ‘Someone Foolish Enough’ As Successor
New Delhi: Elon Musk said on Wednesday he will step down as chief executive of Twitter after finding a replacement.
“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams,” Musk wrote on Twitter.
Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion in late October, asked his followers whether he should resign as the head of Twitter on Sunday night after facing a backlash for unpopular new content moderation policies.
He also promised that he would “abide by the results” of the poll. The result of the poll showed that 57.5% of respondents were in favour of Musk stepping down.
Responding to a comment, he said, “The question is not finding a CEO, the question is finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive.”
He added, “No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor.”
