Dhenkanal: Opposing eve-teasing proved costly for a family at Kankadasoda under Parjang police limits of Dhenkanal district.
According to sources, a gang of eve-teasers used to pass lewd comments on a college going girl everyday.
On Friday evening, the eve-teasers attacked the grandfather and father of the girl with sharp weapons when they confronted them over the incident. The two sustained serious injuries in the attack.
The grandfather, identified as Purnachandra Bai, succumbed to his injuries while being taken to Parjang Community Health Centre. The father, Mohan Bai, has been shifted to Talcher Sub-Divisional Hospital at Mandapal in a critical condition.
Parjang Police have begun a probe in the matter.
