Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a slight rise in the night temperature in the last 24 hours with Koraput recording the lowest of 8.4 degree Celsius, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed on Tuesday.
The mercury was at 11 degree Celsius or less at 3 other places in the state – G Udayagiri (9), Daringbadi (10.5) and Phulbani (11), all in Kandhamal district. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 16.4 and 16.5 degree Celsius, respectively, which was 3 and 1.4 degrees above normal.
Koraput and Angul (11.6) were the only two places that saw below normal temperature with mercury dropping by 4.4 and 2.2 degrees.
According to the weather agency, the state is likely to again witness a drop in the night temperature by 2-3 degree after 3 days.
Dense fog also engulfed Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Rourkela, Angul and Phulbani this morning. Shallow to moderate fog was seen at Kendrapada, Jharsuguda, Chandbali, Bhawanipatna, Keonjhar and Paradip.
The MeT office has sounded yellow warning for several districts of Odisha till January 11 morning.
