Bhubaneswar: With nutrition taking a backseat in daily intake of food by people in the fast paced world, SUM Ultimate Medicare in the city will organise a food festival focusing on the need for nutritious food on Wednesday.
“We believe food nourishes the mind, body and soul. So, we have decided to organise the food festival on the eve of the World Health Day on April 7 to create awareness about traditional nutritious food. Our intention is to breathe life into the legacy of Odisha’s traditional dishes and showcase their nutritional value,” said Dr Swetapadma Dash, Chief Executive Officer of the hospital.
The 12-hour festival, which will commence at 9 am, will not only focus on nutrition but also offer dishes catering to a variety of tastes, she said.
There will be nine separate counters serving different biryani, ghee bhat with chicken or mutton curry, the traditional pakhala with accompaniments, baked delicacies, tandoori items, rolls and parathas and a variety of snacks including
dosas, dahi vada and chats.
Besides, a separate counter will dish out a variety of healthy beverages like Bel Panna, Amba Panna, lassi, fruit shake, lemon water, fresh fruit juices and butter milk.
