Koraput: In a tragic incident, a girl student died and another sustained critical injuries when they fell down from a culvert at Bhitaragarh area under Kakiriguma police limits in Koraput district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Hana Himal, a Class VI student.
Another girl, Lipi, who was seriously injured in the incident, was rescued by some local residents and admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to available information, mishap took place when the duo, who were travelling on a bicycle, lost balance while negotiating a turn.
Getting information regarding the incident, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
