Sambalpur: Universities in Sambalpur district notched up top positions in Odisha on the basis of the number of researchers in Web of Science (Publons), a database of research and researchers with Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) finishing on top of the chart.
VSSUT, Burla finished second while Sambalpur University bagged the third position.
GMU stood 188th in the country in the overall ranking. According to Deputy Registrar UC Pati, the university has made it mandatory for all faculty to publish at least two research papers in a year.
“With good research facilities and improved teaching, GMU has succeeded in making the mark for itself,” Pati was quoted as saying by The New Indian Express.
