Go Green For Your Love This Valentine’s Day

Bhubaneswar: Unlike previous Valentine’s Day celebrations when love birds paint the town red by exchanging expensive gifts, chocolates, cards and roses, let’s go green for our loved one this year.

In an age when deforestation and global warming have become the biggest enemies of mankind, no gift of love can be more valuable than a greener planet. So, instead of splurging on expensive gifts for our Valentines, you can consider planting a tree on February 14.

The sapling that you plant will eventually bloom into a tree, thereby remaining a true symbol of your love for years to come.

Like every year, the weeklong celebrations of love this time also began on February 7 and will culminate on February 14. The celebrations include Rose Day on February 7, Propose Day on February 8, Chocolate Day on February 9, Teddy Day on February 10, Promise Day on February 11, Hug Day on February 12, Kiss Day on February 13 and at last Valentine’s Day on February 14.

Valentine’s Day is named after Saint Valentine and is observed to celebrate love between companions. Though the concept of a special day of love originated in the West, now Valentine’s Day is celebrated in many countries across the globe.
