Haunted House? Guest Reports Seeing Ghost In Airbnb Property
London: In the last few years, Airbnb has become a popular online destination for those seeking convenient accommodation options mainly for short-term homestays.
Private individuals make their properties available to the US-based online marketplace which acts as a broker and charges a commission for every booking.
In a rare and frightening event, an Airbnb guest informed the owner that his accommodation was haunted as he had seen a ghost for “10 minutes.”
Nalin Jha, the Airbnb host, took to a Facebook account of professional hosts (Airbnb – VRBO – Booking.com | Professional Hosts) to share messages that he received from a guest.
The guest asked the owner if anything bad had ever happened in the house.
“My room is on first floor. Something bad happened there?” the guest asked.
Jha responded by asking what happened.
The man then said: “I saw a ghost for ten full minutes. At 1 am.”
Shocked to hear that, the owner asked, “Sorry? Ghost? Where? Let me come and meet you. Are you in the apartment?”
It’s not clear whether he did go and inspect the ghost claim, but the owner captioned the screenshots of the messages as: “After hosting for 12 years on Airbnb and hosting around 10k guests, I thought I have seen it all. But well, I was wrong.”
Not unexpectedly, the post garnered a lot of attention.
“You should up the price, it’s now a haunted attraction,” wrote one person.
“Charge extra for the paranormal package,” quipped another user.
A third person said, “Add that to your listing! People actually pay to stay in homes that they believe are haunted.”
Many others wanted to know what actually happened in the end.
