Heat Wave In Odisha To Subside In Next 48 Hours
Bhubaneswar: The gruelling heat wave in Odisha will subside in the next 48 hours, said an evening release by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, on Monday.
According to the release, Jharsuguda was the hottest place at 44.6 degree Celsius, while the temperature shot up to 40 degrees and above at 12 places – Angul (43.7), Keonjhar (41), Sambalpur (43), Sundargarh (40.5), Hirakud (42.1), Talcher (43.6), Bhawanipatna (42), Balangir (42), Titlagarh (44.5), Malkangiri (42), Sonepur (43.2) and Chandbali (40.4).
The release has warned of a severe heat wave condition in some parts of Bhadrak, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Balangir, Kandhamal, Sonepur and Bargarh districts for two days on April 29 and 30. However, there will be a drastic fall in the temperature from May 1 onwards under the influence of the cyclonic storm Fani, it added.
