Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Regional Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued high-energy swell wave warning for fishermen and advised them not to venture into the sea.
According to a bulletin issued in this regard, high-energy swell waves (2 to 3 metre height) are likely to occur in the Bay of Bengal from April 22. The intensity is most likely decrease by around April 24.
Such waves lasting 17-22 seconds are expected in the seas across the country. Low-lying areas of Kerala and West Bengal are most vulnerable to these weather conditions, the bulletin added.
The Met release also advised that water-based recreational activity at the coast be stopped during this period.
It further informed that heat wave conditions may prevail across Odisha till April 27. Mercury is likely to touch 45 degree Celsius by end of this month.
