Hockey World Cup: FIH To Inform Online Sale Of Tickets 48 Hours In Advance

Bhubaneswar: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) on Friday said online sale of tickets for the inaugural ceremony of the Men’s Hockey World Cup scheduled at the Kalinga Stadium here would be announced 48 hours in advance.

In a statement, FIH president Narinder Batra said the inaugural ceremony of the event would be held in two phases. While the first inaugural ceremony would be held at the Kalinga Stadium on November 27, the second one would be held at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on November 28.

He further said that for the two inaugural ceremonies, 10,500 tickets would be sold online for Kalinga Stadium and 30,000 tickets for Barabati Stadium.

The FIH president said the seating capacity at Kalinga athletic stadium for opening ceremony is less than 10,000 due to the stage-related arrangements. Tickets for public sale will be only be able for purchase on online at No physical sale of the tickets will be done at the outlets and the the organisers will ensure that the public will be notified with sufficient time before the sale starts. Further, there will be no Pass system and all have to purchase the tickets from the official ticket operator, he added after the meeting of the governing body for Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 at the State Secretariat here.

The meeting was chaired Minister of Sports and Youth Services Chandra Sarathi Behra and briefed by Commissioner-cum-Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev.

The meeting also discussed dance and music festival, art trail, storytelling festival, food festival and other such entertaining activities during the course of the World Cup.
