New Delhi: A 44-year-old serving Indian Air Force (IAF) officer was arrested for allegedly sharing sensitive information with a Pakistani intelligence operative. Police has not revealed the officer’s name. He shared the information after being honey-trapped by a woman on social media, reports claimed.
Police shared details of his arrest about 50 days after he was taken into custody in May.
“Post investigation, a chargesheet has been submitted before the court on July 30. The matter is sub-judice,” police said.
Another officer said the alleged espionage matter came to light after the IAF’s intelligence wing learnt about the officer’s activities. Thereafter, they shared details and evidence against him with the Delhi Police special cell. The officer was handed over to the special cell.
