Berhampur: After two years of COVID lockdown, Ganesh puja was celebrated with much grandeur in Berhampur city and its outskirts in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
A Ganesh puja pandal constructed like the Kedarnath temple at Sanakustalli village on the outskirts of the city has been a crowd-puller.
The pandal has been made by workers of Cuttack and they took around one month to complete it.
The height of the pandal is more than 30 feet while the height of the idol is about 10 feet.
“It looks similar to the Kedarnath temple and the hills around it. There is a huge crowd here ,” said Padma Charan Gouda, a resident of the village and a retired teacher.
Srikant Gouda, member of the organizing committee, said, “It is not possible for everyone to visit the Kedarnath temple for darshan. So the structure has been built to show the people a glimpse of the temple. The puja will continue for 21 days.”
