New Delhi: Despite getting a nomination for the best actor for his performance in Serious Men, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will return empty-handed from the International Emmy Awards. The best actor award went to Scottish actor David Tennant for Des.
Sushmita Sen and Vir Das also failed to win despite getting nominations. Sushmita’s Aarya lost Best Drama to the Israeli production Tehran while Vir Das’ comedy special lost Best Comedy to hit French show Call My Agent!
Nawazuddin Siddiqui attended the award ceremony held in New York. This is his second year at the International Emmys. The actor was there in 2019 with two of his shows nominated for Best Drama — Sacred Games and McMafia, which won.
