Jagannath Temple Funds: SJTA To Withdraw Rs 545 Crore From Yes Bank Tomorrow

Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has intimated Yes Bank that it will transfer Rs 545 crore shrine funds deposited in the crisis-hit bank on Thursday.

The withdrawal will come a day after the schedule lifting of the RBI moratorium on Yes Bank at 6 pm on Wednesday.

SJTA administrator (Development) Ajay Kumar Jena told the media that the money will be transferred online from Yes Bank to UCO Bank’s main branch in Puri in two transactions.

“While Rs 389 crore deposited in the bank on March 19, 2019 is maturing tomorrow (Thursday), rest Rs 156 crore will mature on March 30. The SJTA has decided to withdraw the entire Rs 545 crore from the bank tomorrow,” Jena said.

“An intimation for withdrawal of Rs 389 crore was given to Yes Bank yesterday (Tuesday) and another intimation will be submitted today (Wednesday) for the rest amount,” he added.

Earlier, the SJTA had written to the RBI for transfer of Rs 545 crore deposited as TDRs in Yes Bank to UCO Bank.
