Mumbai: An old clip from a 2024 episode of ‘India’s Got Latent’ has resurfaced on social media, once again putting Samay Raina in the spotlight.
The viral video features the comedian making a sexually suggestive joke after a female contestant revealed she had to leave because her father had suffered a heart attack.
Raina asks why the contestant’s boyfriend is not accompanying her before making a crude remark suggesting the boyfriend will be rewarded with oral sex for offering emotional support.
The video has sparked fresh debate, with many social media users comparing it to comedian Pranit More’s recent ‘Rs 370 biryani’ controversy.
“Abhi jaake rota na jaake, bhai kandha dega tabhi woh h**d degi,” Samay had said.
The clip resurfaced on X shortly after the second season of India’s Got Latent premiered, with many social media users calling the joke inappropriate and insensitive.
One X user wrote, “What kind of jokers are they making joke out of everything.”
Another commented, “Kandha dega to….??? Did I listen correctly!!???.”
A third called the show “vicious.”
Comparing the joke to the recent controversy, another user wrote, “Isn’t the last line that Samay said equally vulgar as the rs 370 biryani?”
