Karnataka Elections: Modi, Rahul Engage In Verbal Duel
Bengaluru: Ahead of the Karnataka poll, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched scathing attacks on each other.
In a video tweet posted this morning, Congress scion Rahul Gandhi targeted the BJP Government over corruption charges on Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyuruppa.
“You talk a lot. Problem is, your actions don’t match your words. Here’s a primer on your candidate selection in Karnataka,” he tweeted in a video which took jibe at Modi for his silence of BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate.
In a turnaround over Modi referring him to talk about his party’s doings in Karnataka’s for 15 minutes without looking at the paper he said, “You can refer to a paper for answers.”
Prime Minister Modi, on the other hand, targeted the Congress at a rally on losing elections and said, ”After the Karnataka results, Congress will become PPP Congress- Punjab, Puducherry and Parivar Congress.”
The grand old party is in power in Karnataka, Punjab, Mizoram and Puducherry.
Addressing a rally in Tumakuru, he alleged that Congress and the JD(S) have entered into a ‘secret pact.’
“Poll surveys, political pundits…everyone is saying the JD(S) cannot defeat Congress. They cannot form government. Only BJP can change the government in Karnataka. If anyone is protecting the Congress, it is the JD(S)… Congress and JD(S) have a secret understanding,” he said.
